First time using SAI by LUMIY4 First time using SAI by LUMIY4
Experiment in SAI. I think I have the hang of it now. It took about 2 hours and was pretty easy once I got over the different functions.

Edit: I gave her a background so that she isn't floating in nothingness.

# Where is the old Nintendo when you really want it, and where is the old game stop store where I could find Legend of Zelda games? I should really stop looking at your gallery, or I'll go bankrupt on games shipped from Japan. The background really accents Midna, and you were able to get this amazing level of detail on your painting, hard even for some old time sai users. The only thing I found inferior is that Midna is sort of on the same level on the background, but that'll go away with practice.

Aw do you not have a gamestop anymore? Thanks for the feedback I put Midna and the background on separate layers so that's probably why it's a little flat.

#I prefer the background than the character, the water is really beautiful.
The little blue is beautiful and the character also, but looks strange a little on the black/white line.
But seems to be one of your first ?

Yeah this was my first painting using SAI. I've started others in SAI then finished them in photoshop mostly.

My daughter uses SAI. She's quite the pro at it. I'm clueless -- all "old school" for me so far, but I do appreciate the merits of digital methods. Well done!

wow this is really cool, the perspective and the background, the thing on her head is so detailed. Amazing. I'm still trying to figure out how to paint in sai. u_u

Thank you.
I think SAI is pretty easy compared to photoshop, it just doesn't have pen pressure. Just don't be afraid to really use the paint tool (that's what I did here), because any mistakes can be pretty easily fixed in digital art.

Dually noted. Photoshop is just easier for me right now (coloring wise, not..drawing) because I've used it, but I want to use sai more, it is really an awesome tool.

SAI's definitely better for smooth lines but I find it tends to glitch (on mac at least) so I'd also suggest saving regularly and as a file you can open somewhere other than SAI like .jpeg.
